These terms are an agreement between you and Rivtor (“Rivtor”, “we”, “us”), which operates from India. They cover the website at rivtor.com, the dashboard, the API at api.rivtor.com, the MCP server, the rivtor CLI and every app we host for you (together, the “service”). We have tried to keep them short and plain.

Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms, our privacy policy and our acceptable use policy. If you use the service on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you can bind it to these terms, and “you” means that organisation. You must be at least 18, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

Your account

  • You sign in with GitHub or Google. Each account belongs to one person; do not share sign-in credentials.
  • Before an app can stay always-on or use a custom domain, we may ask you to verify a phone number or a payment card. This keeps abuse off the platform.
  • You are responsible for everything done with your account and your API tokens (rvt_…), including actions taken by AI agents you connect. Keep tokens secret and revoke any you think are exposed.
  • One free account per person. Creating extra accounts to get around free-tier limits is not allowed.

The service

Rivtor builds and runs your applications and the data services they need (Postgres, Redis and object storage) on infrastructure we operate, with Cloudflare in front. Features, limits and supported frameworks are described in our documentation and may change as the product improves. We will not remove a feature you pay for during your current billing period without telling you first.

Plans and billing

  • Current prices and limits are on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually; an annual plan costs ten times the monthly price.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe (cards, worldwide) and Razorpay (UPI autopay and cards, in India). We do not store your full card details. Prices exclude taxes; we add GST or other taxes where the law requires.
  • New accounts start with a 14-day trial of the Pro plan. Unless you choose a paid plan, the account moves to Free when the trial ends. We email you 3 days before, listing what will change.
  • Free and Hobby have hard limits: when you reach one, the action stops with an upgrade prompt and nothing is charged. Pro and Team bill usage above the included amounts at the published overage rates, up to a spend cap ($50 by default on Pro; adjustable on Team). You can change the cap at any time.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and the account then moves to Free.
  • We do not give pro-rata refunds for unused time, except where the law requires it. If you buy an annual plan for the first time and change your mind, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund it in full.
  • If a payment fails, we will retry and email you. If it is still unpaid after 14 days, we may move the account to Free, which can put apps to sleep or stop deploys that exceed Free limits. Nothing is deleted because of a failed payment.

The free tier

The Free plan is for building, learning and personal projects. It is for personal and non-commercial use only: once an app sells something, carries advertising or serves a business, it needs a paid plan. Free container apps sleep after an hour without traffic and wake on the next request. HTML pages served by free apps carry a small “Hosted on Rivtor” badge, which paid plans remove. During periods of very high demand we may put new free signups on a short waitlist.

Your content

Your code, data, files and configuration (“your content”) stay yours. You give us a limited licence to host, copy, build, run, back up and transmit your content only as needed to provide the service to you and to keep it secure (for example, scanning deploys for phishing). We do not use your content to train models and we do not sell it. You are responsible for having the rights to everything you deploy and for the apps you run on Rivtor, including complying with laws that apply to your users.

Acceptable use

Our acceptable use policy is part of these terms. In short: no phishing, malware, mining, spam, illegal content or attacks on others, and no getting around plan limits.

Suspension and takedown

We may suspend an app or an account, without notice, when we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy, puts other customers or the platform at risk, or when the law requires it. Our target is to act on a valid abuse report within 1 hour. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem or appeal by writing to abuse@rivtor.com.

Data and backups

  • Postgres databases have point-in-time recovery for 7 days on Free, 14 days on Hobby and 30 days on Pro and Team.
  • Backups help, but you remain responsible for keeping your own copies of important data. You can export your database at any time with the db tool or rivtor db export.
  • A free project that has been unused for 90 days may be archived. We send two warning emails first, and an archived project can be restored on request.
  • When you destroy a project, its apps, database and files are deleted. When you delete your account, we delete your data as described in the privacy policy.

Availability

We work hard to keep the service fast and available, but self-serve plans (Free, Hobby, Pro and Team) come without a service level agreement or uptime credits. We may carry out maintenance, and will give notice of planned work that could interrupt running apps where we can.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. Detection, plans and error fixes are suggestions produced automatically; review what your agents deploy.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Rivtor is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100 if you have only used the free tier. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Rivtor against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your apps, or your breach of these terms or of the law.

Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may end these terms for an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks them. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity, continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. For material changes we will email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be heard by the courts of competent jurisdiction in India. Before going to court, please write to us; most problems are solved faster that way.
